Life in London

It has been hard to get set up in London. From running out of money (as I only came with 400£), endless nights of red and white pastas and occasional loans, things have gotten much better.

I am still amazed by what a great city London is. It's so International, diverse, young and full of places to go. Whether for it's culture, music, art or dancing/bars......It has everythig! Well except good weather, tasty local food, and the people - well they're english, need I say more.

Although I only know a few people when ever I go to a city centre a big market or festival I run in to people I know accidently( on the street etc..). It's great feeling and happens often.

It's usually people I have met from London. However I ran into a brasilian girl I met in greece 2 years ago in the Italien restaurant I first worked for. Then a Canadian girl in hostel also from greece 2 weeks ago. I even saw an english girl in oxford street that I met in Colombia last year. I also saw a girl I used to work with in California 4-5 years ago in bar.The list goes on.........

Most of the time I feel like I am in Spain. I live with spanish, eating paella, tortilla de pata, lentejas espanolas and an excess amount of imported olive oil (which is really good). I have mostly brasilian freinds and go out to a lot of latin places.

My housing situation has calmed down from the first week of moving around every few days to a different freinds houses . I stayed a month with my freind Isabella (who has helped me out a lot ) and am living with 14 spanish - most of which work in the circus.

After doing several months of telemarketing and market research (on and off to pay the bills), after endless hours of internet searches/ agencies/ newspapers and contacting human resource depts..................It has ended! I am just waiting on the contracts...

I finally found a proper job in finance doing credit control for mainland europe for Mintel liasing with European clients (for Italy/ Spain/ France especially). It is going to be a challenge to have a normal 9-530 routine with only 25 vacation days per year( but for 1-2 years why not)......

I start in 2 weeks so am going to Paris for a few days next friday to see my family and eat . The day after I get back I start work at Mintel.
